We are beyond proud of our Resource Library, which continues to grow into one of the most powerful tools available for families who are struggling and need support. This library is not a random list of links pulled from a Google search — it has been lovingly curated by a dedicated team of volunteers who personally call and vet each organization we include. Our team asks real questions: What services do you provide? Who do you serve? How does someone qualify? What is the actual process to receive help? We gather everything a person would need to know before making that emotionally heavy phone call.
We do this because we understand how exhausting and humiliating it can feel to search for help when you’re already barely holding things together. Nothing is worse than being desperate, calling agency after agency, and getting passed around with five different numbers and no answers. We stand in that gap intentionally. We make sure the organizations listed in our library are warm, compassionate, and won’t make you feel small for needing help. While we cannot guarantee that every resource will be the perfect fit for every situation, we can guarantee that we have spent the time doing the homework for you — we called them, we verified them, and we know they answer the phone.
Our library is growing every single week with new resources across all 50 states, because different regions have different needs. For example, warm winter coats are essential in Minnesota — not so much in Florida. Our Resource Finder can be sorted by state and by topic, helping you locate exactly what you need quickly and without frustration. When you’re in crisis, you shouldn’t have to waste precious time searching for help — you should be able to find it with a click.
And no offense…but we all know that in many towns, United Way isn’t the place you go when you genuinely need answers. (We said what we said.) There are countless grassroots organizations doing real, meaningful work in their communities — and those are the ones we highlight. We find them. We call them. We publish them for you, because we love you, and because no parent should face crisis alone.
