Barrier Island Free Medical Clinic is a non-profit that provides medical care to uninsured families, free of charge. Services include psychiatric, reproductive, cardiovascular care, primary care, etc from physicians licensed in SC. Patients must be between ages 18-65, must be uninsured (no medicaid/medical benefits), must live and/or work across Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester counties, must meet an income level of at or less than 299% the Federal Poverty Level, and must provide a federal form of identification with a picture (passport, driver’s license, state ID, etc). Fill out online documents provided on the website to determine eligibility–a calculator and eligibility quiz is provided on the website. There is no limit to the amount of care that a family may receive.
