Founded in 2012, Chive Charities partners with equipment companies and helps underserved Veterans, military families, first responders, and rare medical diagnosees with life-changing grants for therapy equipment like adaptive tricycles, robotic walkers, service dogs, wheelchair-accessible vans, and a wide range of mobility items. Individuals under the federal poverty limit only are eligible.
An individual may apply online for themselves, a family member, or someone for whom they have guardianship. They may only apply once for assistance, and must wait up to 9 months for their case to be thoroughly processed. Exact income documentation including form 1040 and/or SSA-1099 is required, and a letter from their medical professional supporting the specific item/piece of equipment for their condition.
