Growing hope

Growing Hope is one of the more comprehensive and innovative family-preservation nonprofits in South Carolina. They focus on supporting children, youth, foster families, and struggling households through a full “continuum of care” model — meaning they try to intervene before family crises lead to deeper child welfare involvement whenever possible.

Their mission statement is:

“We center children, support families, and brighten our communities with hope.”

Their vision is:

“Transforming child welfare with innovation and courage so every child and family is safer, stronger, and more hopeful.”

Growing Hope stands for:

prevention before crisis,
trauma-informed care,
keeping families together when safely possible,
community-based support instead of institutional approaches,
and helping children heal while strengthening caregivers and families.

A major theme throughout their work is that many families need:

practical support,
mental health help,
parenting guidance,
and stabilization resources

before situations escalate into removal or foster placement.

What Services They Provide

Growing Hope provides several interconnected programs.

Family Resource Connection & Preservation Services (FRCPS)

This is probably the program most aligned with Parent Partnership/family preservation models.

It helps families:

at risk of entering the child welfare system,
struggling with instability,
facing parenting stress,
poverty,
behavioral concerns,
or family conflict.

Services include:

case management,
parenting coaching,
family assessments,
referrals,
concrete support,
and wraparound stabilization services.
